Project Objective:

Students will create a hand drawn graffiti image using graffiti-style lettering, developmental techniques and designs.  They will brainstorm thematically on social justice issues, and will have the option to work in a group to emphasize the aspect of community and how graffiti relates to that concept.

Techniques:

● Graffiti-style lettering

● Contour Line

● Color: Color Schemes, Symbolism

● Elements and Principles: Balance, Unity, Line, Symmetry, Pattern, Contrast

Media:

Pencil, Paper, Copic Marker, Chalk Pastel, Acrylic Paint

Concept or Theme:

Students will explore culturally significant styles and techniques used in Graffiti Art.  This style will be applied to words of significance (themes such as “Strength,” “Time,” “Love,” etc.)  This text will then be supported by supplemental imagery (characters, icons, etc.) and animated for use in web-based applications.
