Project Objective:

Students will create a series of 3 images, each incorporating a thematic color, (red=anger, etc.) an Element of Design and a Principle of Design.  Emphasis will be on design originality and composition.  (example: repeating red lines used to show movement)

This preliminary project is meant to review concepts (elements / principles) and techniques (Adobe Illustrator) first introduced in the beginning Digital Art class.

Techniques:

Adobe Illustrator techniques: New File, Canvas Size, Artboards, Layers, Line and Shape Tools, Vector Line and Anchor Points, Color and Stroke, Copy/Paste, Pathfinder, Save File, .PDF vs. .AI File

Concept or Theme:

Students will explore design concepts by combining the elements and principles of art together in a series of images.  These 5”x5” images will form a triptych series exploring design variety, craftsmanship and presentation.
